Saimi Hoyer has spent her life looking for mushrooms.

Mycel began where those two worlds meet.

Beneath the Finnish forest floor, fungi and trees are connected through mycelium — a vast living network hidden beneath moss, roots and fallen leaves. Most of it remains unseen, yet it is everywhere.

That hidden world became the starting point for Mycel.

Together with Saimi Hoyer, we wanted to create a fragrance that goes beyond the familiar idea of a forest scent. Not only pine, wood and moss, but something deeper: the earth beneath them, the mushrooms growing from it, and the quiet life connecting everything below the surface.

Real Finnish wild mushrooms became part of the fragrance itself. Black waxcap, black trumpet and funnel chanterelle bring an unusual earthy warmth and depth to the composition, surrounded by the familiar materials of the Finnish forest. 

Mycel is an exploration of a forest we rarely stop to notice.
