A natural scented candle inspired by the Finnish epic Kalevala. Birch, juniper, and olibanum blend with spruce resin and a hint of smoke. The scent is earthy, calm, and nostalgic, like quiet evenings by the fire. Finnish tradition made tangible.

The candle with wood wick comes in a reusable glass jar with a Finnish pine wood lid. Burn time of up to 32 hours.

Scent unfolding

Birch and juniper open bright and clean. Olibanum and spruce resin bring warmth and a trace of smoke. Simple, grounding, and full of quiet meaning. As the aspen wood wick burns, it crackles softly, filling the room with warmth and quiet comfort.

Made with sustainable rapeseed and soy wax for a clean, natural burn. The candle comes in a reusable glass jar with a pine wood lid. 100% natural, vegan, and made without water, plastic, colour, alcohol, silicone, or gluten.

What kind of wick do the candles use?

Hetkinen candles use either cotton or wooden wicks, depending on the product. Cotton wicks provide a clean, even burn, while aspen wooden wicks create a soft crackling sound and a more atmospheric experience.

How to use a candle with wood wick?

You can use a Hetkinen wood wick trimmer. Trimming your wick to 5mm ensures a cleaner, longer burn while reducing smoke and soot, keeping your candle looking beautiful and burning evenly. A wood wick trimmer can be purchased also from our online store here.
